The last pic of yours truly was taken on a recon flight with Murphy in that flying lawn mower behind me. Note the condition of the tiny little fuel tank....any doubt this was a Korean War vintage bird.  Of interest to me is the fact that this is the only shot of me in VN with a steel helmet but I wore one all the time in the field of course.  What is neat is that if you look close you will see the captains bars have a bit of camouflage over them.....the best that I could do with a piece of black slip my girl friend, later my wife sent me for that purpose. I still have that piece of slip by the way....or at least half of it....my daughter has the other half in a shadow box.
